I entered Oklahoma State University in the fall of 1977 with a major of engineering. Upon graduation with a B.S. Electrical Engineering degree in 1982, I accepted employment with AT&T Technologies.
During my employment with AT&T, I attended OCU's accelerated night school program to obtain a M.B.A.. I graduated in 1986 with high honors, a 4.0 grade point average and the award with outstanding off campus student. I enjoyed my business studies and began to ponder where to direct my career. As a result, I decided optometry was the career which best fit my goals. I applied to and was accepted at three optometry schools. I resigned from AT&T May 1989 to attend Northeastern State University College of Optometry.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude in May 1993 with my Doctorate of Optometry. At that time, Dr. Donovan and I were planning to work together until his retirement, when I planned to purchase his practice. Dr. Donovan passed away unexpectedly and I purchased the practice from his wife.
